Richard graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a main in finance and accounting in 1987. He waited 3 years before coming into the Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1993. He labored briefly as a clerk in the United States Lawyer s Office in Las Vegas after which he joined his father Melvyn Jacoby s corporation in 1994.
Richard is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the National Consumer Bankruptcy Association.
