*Education*
Ric obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Honors Program at the School of Engineering at North Carolina State University in Raleigh (1973). He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1977).
*Specialized Training*
Ric has augmented his schooling in advocacy and mediation. In 1996 he became certified to behavior mediated agreement meetings in Superior Court Civil movements. In 1999 he became licensed to behavior mediation of equitable distribution and other circle of relatives economic cases in District Court moves. In 1999 he also finished a professional intensive education software through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
*Practice*
Ric has been admitted to exercise earlier than the General Courts of Justice in North Carolina (1977) and Colorado (2009), the District Courts of america of America (1977), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, in Richmond, Virginia (1987).

Ric is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
