Kenyan McDuffie is the Principal of the Law Offices of Kenyan R. McDuffie, PLLC. Prior to founding the corporation, Mr. McDuffie worked as a Trial Lawyer for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. At the Justice Department, he conducted investigations, negotiated and monitored compliance with complicated settlements, and controlled instances during the United States regarding enforcement of key federal civil rights statutes, which includes investigating allegations of racial profiling, excessive use of force, and different misconduct via police departments. Prior to joining the Justice Department, Mr. McDuffie worked as an Assistant State s Lawyer in Prince George’s County, in which he prosecuted masses of instances in District Court and on attraction in Circuit Court, inclusive of serious visitors offenses and misdemeanor and criminal crimes. Mr. McDuffie started his legal career as a judicial law clerk for an Associate Judge on the seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland.
Mr. McDuffie graduated summa cum laude from Howard University with a Bachelor’s diploma in Political Science and Community Development. He acquired his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of The University of Maryland Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class, and research assistant to then-Professor Tom Perez, now Assistant Lawyer General for Civil Rights on the U.S. Department of Justice. During law school, Mr. McDuffie interned for a decide at District of Columbia Superior Court in addition to with the District of Columbia Public Defender Service and the U.S. Lawyer’s Office for the District of Columbia. Between college and law college, Mr. McDuffie labored on the workforce of Eleanor Holmes Norton, the District of Columbia’s Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mr. McDuffie is a member of a number of professional agencies, consisting of the Washington Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
