Karen Laifer acquired her Juris Doctorate degree from New York University School of Law in 1990 and graduated magna cum laude in 1987 from Barnard College, Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. While in law college, Ms. Laifer clerked for the Hon. Kathleen Roberts, S.D.N.Y., and upon graduation, she worked as an associate at Milbank,Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. In 2006, Ms. Laifer based her own personal exercise in Teaneck, NJ, focusing entirely in the place of divorce and family regulation, custody, post judgment family law subjects, figure coordination, mediation, and collaborative regulation. Her practice extends to counties at some stage in Northern New Jersey. Ms. Laifer has been a licensed mediator considering that 2007 and is a member of both the Collaborative Divorce Association of North Jersey and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Ms. Laifer received the State Senate and General Assembly of New Jersey Joint Legislative Resolution award acknowledging her work on behalf of Project S.A.R.A.H. (Stop Abusive Relationships at Home).
