Jonathan T. Stender focuses his practice on representing employers and personnel in a wide spectrum of exertions and employment matters, each administratively and in litigation, which include workers’ repayment, OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, civil rights, discrimination, wrongful discharge, and intentional torts.
Jonathan graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Russian Language and Literature and Political Science/International Relations from the University of Washington in 1994. He obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1998. At Case, Jonathan turned into government editor of the Journal of International Law, a member of the National Moot Court Team, and recipient of the celebrated Dunmore Award, for excellence in appellate advocacy.
Prior to practicing regulation, Jonathan served as a Cryptologic Special Operations Team manager within the Naval Security Group, United States Navy. He is the author of "Challenges to the Control of Strong Crypto and the National Security Perspective," 30 Case W. Res. J. Int l Law 287 (1998), and is an authorized Russian interpreter and translator.
Jonathan additionally has written and spoken on a huge variety of employment and people reimbursement issues. Recent publications encompass, "Navigating The Minefield Of Military Leave," "Ohio Drug Testing Law Covering Workplace Injuries Ruled Unconstitutional," and "ADA Direct Threat - The Supreme Court Has Finally Spoken."
Jonathan is admitted to exercise in Ohio and the U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio, and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers Association, and American Association for Justice.
