Jeff chairs the Firm’s creation and design practice organization. Since 1994, Jeff has had the privilege to symbolize proprietors, layout-builders, design specialists, standard contractors, creation managers, and subcontractors of all sorts and sizes, ranging from publicly-traded global companies to small neighborhood agencies, on a wide form of initiatives, which include: petroleum and bio-gasoline refineries; fossil-fuel and geothermal strength flowers; business and food processing facilities; army centers and government housing; earthen dams; sports stadiums; commercial workplace towers; heavy highway, transportation, and civil; distribution facilities; retail tendencies; and condominium developments. Although Jeff assists clients at all stages of a creation task, litigation is the predominant awareness of his practice. Jeff has attempted or arbitrated more than 20 creation disputes to verdict or award, and he has been diagnosed as one of the leading construction legal professionals in Kansas and Missouri. The nature of the disputes he has litigated is varied and includes: claims for delays, disruptions, lost productiveness, and acceleration; claims for added repayment because of unknown or modified web site conditions; claims for wrongful termination; claims for faulty layout drawings and specifications; construction defect claims; claims underneath the Miller Act and similar state statutes; and mechanic’s lien claims. › ›

Although we deal with maximum litigation topics on an hourly-rate basis, SAKG has entered into and correctly applied alternative fee preparations on numerous subjects. Some examples include: (i) we defended a creation dispute underneath a phased flat-fee arrangement wherein we divided the case into 4 discrete phases – pre-discovery investigation and evaluation, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial – and SAKG received flat fees for each segment of work; (ii) we represented the claimant in a business arbitration beneath a natural contingent-fee association; (iii) we represented a consumer in a business dispute in federal courtroom below a hybrid contingent-rate and hourly-rate arrangement, wherein the corporation acquired a discounted hourly fee together with a contingent “achievement charge” upon end of the case; (iv) we recently handled an enchantment in a commercial rely on a fixed-charge basis; and (iv) in view that 2007, we have defended all premises liability topics for one customer beneath a blended hourly-rate association.
