Jaye Meyer is indexed inside the Best Lawyers in America® and North Carolina Super Lawyers®. Ms Meyer obtained the Super Lawyers award for Top 50 Women Lawyers in North Carolina from 2010-2014, and Top 100 Lawyers in 2011. She has been recognized by using Business North Carolina magazine as one of the “Legal Elite” in North Carolina. Ms. Meyer is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law, a Fellow within the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and is licensed as a Family Financial Mediator.
Ms. Meyer turned into admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1990. She received her B.A. cum laude from Wake Forest University and her J.D. with High Honors from the University of North Carolina, in which she served as Editor-In-Chief of the North Carolina Law Review.
Ms. Meyer has served on the Family Law Council of the North Carolina Bar Association and changed into the Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section in 2000-2001. She is the beyond Chair of the Family Law Specialization Committee of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and received the Howard L. Gum Service Award in 2008. She was elected to the Board of Law Examiners in 2007.
Ms. Meyer is the beyond Chair of the Family Law Continuing Legal Education Curriculum Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association and is a frequent direction planner and speaker at Continuing Legal Education packages during the country. Ms. Meyer has lately lectured on the following subjects: “Cohabitation Sufficient to Terminate Alimony,” “Use of Wiretap Evidence,” “Domestic Violence and Related Laws,” “Divisible Property and Distribution of Marital Assets,” “Family Law Basics — Case Management,” “Modification and Enforcement of Judgments in Family Law Cases,” and “Rules 4 and 45 of the North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.”
Ms. Meyer’s interests are hiking and going for walks. She has finished 61 marathons due to the fact that 1994.
