JAMES J. GORNEY, a former coverage adjuster, is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. He has been working towards regulation for over 25 years. His practice is usually civil litigation with an emphasis in actual estate, non-public harm, industrial litigation, identify insurance litigation, wills and estates.
Mr. Gorney is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and presently serves as treasurer of the Charles County Bar Association. He is at the Board of Directors of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Laplata, is a member of the Lawyer Grievance Commission of Maryland–Peer Review Committee and the Charles County Judicial Nominating Committee.
Mr. Gorney has been appointed as a Settlement Conference Facilitator with the Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland. He has served as a speaker with the Maryland Land Title Association. He serves as a volunteer with the Honor Flight Network and has been a member of the Greater Waldorf Jaycees for over twenty years
Mr. Gorney is likewise certified to exercise regulation within the District of Columbia and Virginia.
