He started out his career as a criminal protection attorney in Orlando, Florida, where he attempted numerous misdemeanor and prison cases. He moved to Tallahassee in 2009 to the be a part of the General Counsel’s Office at the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. There, Slater handled clinic licensure and Medicaid overpayment cases on the trial stage and on attraction.
Thereafter, Dwight Slater dealt with coverage agent and corporation licensure matters for the Florida Department of Financial Services earlier than accepting a Regional Appellate Counsel function with the Florida Department of Children and Families’ Children’s Legal Services.
